Research Notes:
his relationship to Sir William CHAMBERLAIN and Joan is unstated, yet his heirs came into possession of all the Chamberlain lands. He may have been a brother to Sir Robert Chamberlain, but just as well could be a nephew of William Chamberlain [Ref: Ronny Bodine SGM 3/26/1999]

1303: Richard Chamberlain is returned as holding Gatesden (Feudal Aids, 2: 425) [Ref: Ronny Bodine SGM 3/26/1999]

1314-1315: Richard Chamberlain is returned as holding Gatesden (Cal. Close Rolls, 1313-18: 117, 155). [Ref: Ronny Bodine SGM 3/26/1999]

1310-1318: he and wife Joan were involved in lawsuits over Lathbury Manor, Buckinghamshire with Lavendon Abbey, the suit which continued with their son John (VCH, Bucks, 4: 375 citing numerous De Banco Rolls). [Ref: Ronny Bodine SGM 3/26/1999]

1314: he and Joan settled Stanbridge on their son John and his wife Joan (Cal. Patent Rolls, 1313-17: 115; Feudal Aids, 1: 21). [Ref: Ronny Bodine SGM 3/26/1999]
