Harold D. Bigelow, 87, formerly of Columbia Street, St. Marys, died Nov. 22, 2004, at St. Joseph's Mercy Health Care Center, Hot Springs, Ark.
He was born Aug. 15, 1917, in Spencerville, to Madison D. and Sarah J. Sampson Bigelow.
Surviving are a son, Larry (Julie) of Sarasota, Fla.; a daughter, Cindy (Greg) Snyder, St. Marys; a brother, Bill of Ellington, Wash.; a sister, Mabel Detrick, Allentown, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Mary Bigelow, St. Marys; his former wife, Eva B. Brown Carver, St. Marys; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Harley; a sister, Luella; and a half brother, Norman Sampson.
He retired as a carpenter with Kessler Builders and also worked as a backhoe operator for the city of St. Marys. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9289, St. Marys, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial with military rites will follow at Spencerville Cemetery.
