This Indenture made and Entered into this Seventh day of January one thousand Seven hundred and Ninety three by and between John Humphreys of Ohio County and State of Virginia of the one part and James Reed of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the aforesaid John Humphreys for and in Consideration of the Sum of one hundred and four pounds three Shillings and four pence to him in hand Paid by the Said James Reed Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath Bargained and Sold and by these presents doth give grant bargain Sell Alien and Confirm unto the aforesaid James Reed a Certain Piece parcel of Tract of land laying on a South Branch of Buffaloe Creek known by the name of the Long run in Ohio County and Bounded as followeth (to wit) Beginning at Two Ironwood Sapplins on a run Corner to George Huphrey thence with his line South sixty degrees East thirty Poles to an Ironwood on the side of a Ridge corner to George Humphrey and With his Lines South Nineteen degrees west one hundred and twenty six poles to a Black oak Corner to Robert Humphrey thence North sixty three and half degrees west one hundred and eighty seen poles to a thorn and Sugartree Saplin and two little Bushes Corner to the original thence North fifty six degrees East two hundred and fifty eight poles to the beginning Containing one hundred and fifty acres by Survey being part of three hundred and Eighty five acres originally granted to the said John Humphrey by Edmond Randolph as will appear by Patent dated at Ritchmond April the Twentyeth one thousand seven hundred and eighty seven Recores being thereunto had together with all its appurtenances to have and to hold the Tract of land as before described be it more or less with all its appurtenances unto the said James Reed and his heirs to the only Proper use of the Said James Reed his heirs and assigns forever and the Said John Humphrey and his heirs the Tract of Land of before Mentioned with its appurtenances unto the Said James Reed his heirs and assigns against him his heirs and assigns all Persons Claiming or to Claim will Warrant and forever defend by these presents, In Witness whereunto the Said John Humphrey has hereunto set his hand fixed his Seal the day and year first above written.

And on the 19th day of January A.D. 1796 I have agreeable to the Laws of Virginia and by virtue of a License directed to any authorized Munister of the gospel in Ohio County Issued by the clk of sd. county on the 16th day of january 1796 solemized the right of Marriage between James Reed & Sinah Parker. This Indenture Made and entred into this day of in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Ninety Six by and between James Reed of Ohio County in the State of Virginia of the one part and William Merick of the County and State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said James Reed for and in consideration of fifty six pounds five Shillings and no pence paid by said William Merick unto Said James reed hath bargained Sold and by these presents doth grant unto the aforesaid William Merik a certain piece of parcel of Land laying on the South Branch of Buffaloe Creek known by the name of long run in the County aforesaid bounded as followeth viz, Beginning at an Iron Wood Saplin Corner to George Humphrey thence with his line North Sixty degrees West thirty Poles to two Iron Woods Saplins on a run Corner to the said George Humphrey thence South Sixty degrees West one hundred and seventy poles to a small beech and dog wood thence by my own land South Sixty Seven and one half degrees East One hundred and thirty poles to a bent Sugartree in a Run thence by Land of George Humphrey down Said run North Nineteen degrees East One hundred and forty two poles to the place of Beginning, Containing Seventy five Acres by Survey being part of the said Land where the said Reed now lives which contained One hundred and fifty acres Granted to him by John Humphrey and Granted to the said John Humphrey by Edmond Randolf as will appear by Patent dated at Richmond April the twentieth 1787 recourse being had, together with its appurtenances unto the Said William Merick and his heirs forever and the Said James Reed is to Warrant and defend it unto Said William Merick his heirs and assigns.
