Research Notes:
The obituary of Mary Ann, who died January 7, 1940: Mrs Miles Mottern Dies At McEwensville.
Mrs. Mary Ann Mottern, wife of Miles Mottern, died Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Watson Ramer, at McEwensville, as the result of a stroke suffered recently. She was 74.
Mrs. Mottern resided in Danville until about 12 years ago when she moved to McEwensville. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church at Danville.
Surviving are her husband, one brother, William Hendricks, Canton Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Neis, Philadelphia, and Mrs. Ramer; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Fermier Funeral Home at Danville with burial in the Odd Fellows cemetery at that place. The Rev. Carroll S. Rudisill, pastor of Messiah Lutheran church, will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9 o'clock. [Ref: John Hendricks 12/14/1995]
