son and apparent heir of John Jenks of London, cutler, and his wife Elinor [Ref: Colket JENKS-Father p168]

1629: admitted to his father's guild of white bakers [Ref: Colket JENKS-Father p168]

identified by Charles E Banks as the American colonist, and this identification appears in several publications, including William Bradford Browne's Genealogy of the Jenks Family in America on p12. That it is an error is proved by the administration on Joseph's estate granted to his widow Mary of the nearly parish of St Leonard, Shorelitch, Middlesex, in 1642 [Ref: Colket JENKS-Father p169]
