Research Notes:
said to have been left in England with his mother's people when father immigrated in 1643, but was certainly in New England by 1647 when he was with his father learning the iron industry [Ref: Browne JENKS pxi]

lived a short time at Concord, then in Rhode Island [Ref: Sav-age JENKS Joseph2]

1655: said to have settled in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, but no authentic evidence for such date [Ref: Cutter NE p2076]

moved to Pawtucket, Rhode Island, where he built the first house erected there [Ref: Farmer JENKS Joseph]

settled in Pawtucket; built the first home in that plantation [Ref: Sav-age JENKS Joseph2]

10 Oct 1671: first mention of him in records of Providence; deed of land he purchased at Pawtucket Falls [Ref: Cutter NE p2076]
