1305: Walter de Kyngesmede appealed Hugh's widow, Maud, and William de
Billebury for the murder of his brother, Hugh de Kyngesmede, at Thameside,
Longon. Maud was also charged in the murder of her husband, Hugh [Ref:
Richardson RoyalAnc v4p471]
at the same time the charges were dropped in the Kyngesmede case, she received
a pardon at the request of Queen Margaret of France, wife of King Edward I,
for the poisoning of her husband. By mid-Sept 1305 Maud was free from the
Tower of London [Ref: Richardson RoyalAnc v4p471]
