1229: gained control of his mother's lands, half of the Barony of Hooton Pagnell [Ref: Sanders Baronies p55]

1230: as heir of Maurice de Ghent, obtained the other half of the Barony [Ref: Sanders Baronies p55]

1230: on death of his third cousin, Maurice de Gaunt (William the great-grandfather of Maurice being elder brother of Alexander great-grandfather of Andrew) laid claim to the manors of (East) Quantockshead, Stockland, Huish, Pawlet and Weare in Somerset, and Irnham in Lincs [Ref: CP VIII p284(i)]

1246: granted quittance for the 12 1/2 knights' fees of Maurice de Ghent, and he was charged scutage on 15 knights' fees [Ref: Sanders Baronies p56(1)]
