Research Notes:
1828: (in year of marriage) became members of the Brethren in Christ Church [Ref: Sider MARTIN p39]

retired from active work in 1862 [Ref: EngleMM ENGLE p24]

1884: went to Kansas, attracted by cheap land. Travelled with two sons, Michael and Henry, two sons-in-law Jacob Flory and Daniel Heisey, and two grandsons, Christian O and Hezekiah Musser. Bought a section of land (640 acres). But when he drove over the land to inspect it, he fell from the back seat of the buggy and died shortly afterward as a result of the fall. That episode ended the family's plans to settle in the West [Ref: Sider MARTIN p40]
