King of Norway [Ref: Watney WALLOP #745]
First Christian King of Norway [Ref: Weis AR7 #243A]

called Olaf "the Stout" during his lifetime [Ref: Weis AR7 #243A]

father (according to Adam of Bremen) was Cracabben (Olaf, nicknamed Cracabben, the Olaf Tryggvason of the sagas) [Ref: Stewart Baldwin SGM 3/26/1997]

Not tall, but middle sized, stout, and strong, light brown hair, and red and white complexion. His eyes were particularly fine, beautiful and piercing, so that one was afraid to look him in the face when he was angry. Olaf was very expert in all bodily exercies, understoon well how to handle to bow, and to throw the spear; he was a great swimmer, and hand at smith's work. [Ref: Watney WALLOP #745]

1013: while yet a pagan, came to England and helped King Aethelred in his struggle against the Danes; he returned to Norway a convert to Christianity, with priests, and monks for converting his people, but his people drove him into exile and killed him at Drontheim in 1030 [Ref: Watney WALLOP #745]

1013: accompanied Svein on his conquest of England [Ref: Stewart Baldwin SGM 3/26/1997]

1014: rebelled on Svein's death and made himself King of Norway [Ref: Stewart Baldwin SGM 3/26/1997]

driven out of his kingdom by Knut of Denmark, an event dated by the ASC to the year 1028 [Ref: Stewart Baldwin SGM 3/26/1997]
