Research Notes:
Tobias Stepleton made his Will, written in German script, 14 July 1801. It was probated on 6 April 1805, he "having died at a very advanced age". He bequeathed all his real estate, in equal shares, to two of his sons, Johannes and Robbert (sic) except that which "lies across the Blue Mountain", which said tract went to Robert, alone. The surviving children of Jacob Driess, married to another daughter, Magdalena, were to receive 100 pounds, equally divided among them. Remaining money, bonds, etc. was to be divided into 5 equal shares and distributed among Johannes, Robert, Simon Wertman, Jacob's children, and Jacob Friess' children.
