Research Notes:
middle name given him at birth was "Presley". In a taped interview given in 1978, he explained that it became "Rusley" when he joined the Navy. In writing the name "Presley", he made a "P" which looked like an "R". When he was discharged, he attempted to have it changed back to Presley. The paymaster inquired if it really mattered; Pet replied that it really didn't, so it became "Rusley" from then on; this is what appears on hi stombstone [Ref: Carletta Keith 9/29/2003]
