Research Notes:
following death of her parents, became part of the household of William and Jane or "Jinnie" (Gilkey) Reed [Ref: Paul Phelps 10/21/2014]

Thompson's history says that, after moving to Virginia with William and Jane, Peggy lived for a while with an old couple named WILSON, led by an old man who died at his prayers, and later with a family CAMPBELL, who owned slaves and lived "only a few miles from the Natural Bridge" [Ref: Paul Phelps 10/21/2014]

separated from William and Jane Reed; abt 1804 returned to Pennsylvania on her own, passing through Washington County on her way to Mercer County, where she and Sarah McMillan "came to William Reed's as travelers, asking (only) to stay the night" as if they did not know these were kinfolk [Ref: Paul Phelps 10/21/2014]
