Research Notes:
1659: sued by George Hadley for fencing about forty or fifty acres of his
farm without giving satisfaction and won the case. Joseph Jewett and
Robert Heselton testified that George Hadley assented to the division of
land, 29 Mar 1659. Theophylus Shatswell deposed that he heard Robert
Hasaldin say that said Robert held not the land in controversy by the
"marchants" last laying out, it being divided by merchant Jewett but by
an agreement he thought his brother John & Goodman Hadley made an
exchange of land. Old records are not very clear about the case, but it is
evident from the papers that have survived that Robert held a piece of
property that George Hadley claimed [Ref: Holman PILLSBURY p381]
