796-769 BC: Pharaoh of Egypt, throne name "Usermaetre-Setpenamun" [Ref: Dodson

839-786 BC: Grand Priest of Amon [Ref: Settipani LGA p166]
appointed High Priest at the time of his father's assumption of the

from year 11: involved in a lengthy civil war against Pedubast I and his
successors, as recorded in his Chronicle text in the Bubastite Portal at
Karnak. Although initially successful, in Takelot's year 15 Osorkon and his
father seem to have lost control of Thebes until year 24. Then some kind of
agreement let the prince resume his place as High Priest. However,
hostilities were resumed a year or two after Takelot's death, with Osorkon's
expulsion from Thebes once again. It was not until about the 40th anniversary
of his first appointment that Osorkon finally regained office, with the help
of his brother Bakenptah; this seems to have been marked soon after by his
assumption of the throne as Osorkon III [Ref: Dodson Egypt p230]
missed funeral of father, due to waging war in south. Therefore the
Pharaoh went to younger brother [Ref: Settipani LGA p164]
