Research Notes:
When the call to patriots came in 1775, Philip was yet in his teens, but tendered his services to the cause of Liberty, and in the homes of his people today are recited incidents of endurance, hardship and danger he encountered when in charge of the provision wagons transporting supplies and munitions from Reading to the army headquarters. History records that in 1777, some 350 wagons went forward from Berks County to Philadelphia, and Philip is known to have driven as far as Baltimore, Md. [Ref: Burkhardt BOUCHER p91]

Philip married Catherine Smith and they lived on the homestead farm, which came into his possession after the death of Daniel about 1792. [Ref: Burkhardt BOUCHER p91]

Mar 2 1797: a deed from John Penn to Philip Boucher; given to clear title to the Daniel homestead. The Penn's claimed a rental each year and this effected a release of the rental [Ref: Burkhardt BOUCHER p60]

Jun 28 1811: Philip Bausher and wife Magdalena purchased a tract of land Jacob Bausher and Elizabeth recorded an assignment on Mar 19 1816. In 1865 the heirs of Philip Bauscher gave deed for this tract. Heirs wre John Peter Bausher of Albany Township; Jacob Bausher of Maiden Creek Twp; Catharine (Bausher) Hinkle of Perry Twp; Polly (Bausher) Machemer of Pottsville; and Elizabeth (Bausher) Schlier of Windsor Twp [Ref: Burkhardt BOUCHER p60]

Philip survived to the advanced age of 88 years, passing away in 1845. He was buried in the cemetery adjacent to the New Bethel Church, and a lone slab of sandstone marks his resting place, which is said to be near the unmarked grave of Daniel. [Ref: Burkhardt BOUCHER p91]
