Know All men by these presents that I William Todd of Ohio County and State of Virginia in consideration of the sum of $157.39 cents lawful money of the United States of America paid to me by William Sawhill of Buffaloe township Washington County and State of Pennsylvania, the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge do hereby give grant bargain sell and convey unto the said William Sawhill his heirs and assigns forever, a certain tract of land lying on the waters of Wheeling Creek in Ohio County and State of Virginia bounded as follows (to wit) Beginning at a White Oak S 57 degrees E 93 perches to a White Oak thence N 26 degrees E 35 and one half perches to a stone thence N 46 degrees W 154 perches to a white oak thence S 134 perches to the beginning containing 55 acres, being part of a tract of land granted to Andrew Robison by patent bearing date who conveyed to John Wilson and conveyed by said John Wilson to Daniel & Andrew Gillespie and by them conveyed to William Todd; To have and to hold the said granted bargained premises with the priviledges and appurtainances thereof, to the said William Sawhill his heirs and assigns to his and their use and behoof forever, And I the said William Todd for myself my heirs executors and administrators do covenant with the said William Sawhill his heirs and assigns that I am lawfully Seized in fee of the premises that they are free of all incumbrances that I have good right to sell and convey the same to the said William Sawhill to hold as aforesaid, and that I will warrant and defend the same to the said William Sawhill his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims and demands of all persons, Provided Nevertheless that if I the said William Todd my heirs executors or administrators, shall well and truly pay to the said William Sawhill his heirs executors administrators or assigns the full and just sum of $157.39 cents lawfull money of the United States on or before the 24th day of September next ensuing the date hereof, with lawfull interest for the same untill paid, then this deed as also a certain note bearing even date with these presents Given by me to the said William Sawhill conditioned to pay the same Sum and interest at the time aforesaid shall be void, otherwise shall remain in full force and virtue. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 24th day of March in the year of our Lord 1820. William Todd.

Ohio Co VA Deeds 15-334, dated 6 Jan 1830:
This Indenture made and entered into this sixth day of January 1830 between William Sawhill of the first part and the heirs of William Todd deceased of the other part, witnesseth that whereas the said William Todd in his lifetime did by a Deed of Mortgage dated the 24th day of March 1820 convey to the said William Sawhill a certain tract of land in the County of Ohio on the waters of Wheeling Creek containing fifty five acres to become the payment of one hundred and fifty seven dollars and thirty nine cents as mentioned in said Deed, and whereas the said sum of money has been fully paid off and discharged by the heirs of the said William Todd, Now this Indenture witnesseth that the said William Sawhill for and in consideration of the payment aforesaid doth grant bargain sell and release to the heirs of the said William Todd all the interest right title property claim and demand either in law or equity which he the said William Sawhill hath or might have in and to the tract of land aforesaid in consequence of the said Deed. In testimony whereof the said William Sawhill hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year first above written. William Sawhill.
