Research Notes:
his house was located on the plain in North Billerica, an exposed situation; and in the massacre of 5 Aug 1695 by the Indians, his mother-in-law, Mrs. Ross and five of his children were killed and another was taken captive by the Indians; of his seven children then living, only the eldest child, John, a boy of thirteen years, escaped unharmed [Ref: ShedFE SHED p47]
