Research Notes:
physician. In 1793 he wrote to his relatives in Virginia describing the yellow fever epidemic in Philadelphia. In 1796 as surgeon of a merchant ship, he made a voyage to Calcutta, but was wrecked on the Lizzards. IN 1799 he sailed to Canton on a fine new vessel, "Richard Dale." [Ref: Helm TODD p80]
