Dec 9 1675: name appears in "A List of Captain Samuell Mosselys Company taken at Dedham the 9th Day of Xber 1675" [Ref: Washburn CHADWICK p22]

Apr 24 1676: on list among those "Credited with Military Service under Capt. Mosely December 10 1675" [Ref: Washburn CHADWICK p22]

Dec 19 1676: wounded at the "Great Swamp Fight." The battle is known to history as "the Great Swamp Fight" but the record shows that the name was really the battle at "the Swamp fort." [Ref: Washburn CHADWICK p22]

Nov 11 1698: with wife Hannah, sold his dwelling house in Malden and the land with it, one quarter of an acre, together with a piece of land of ten acres, another of nine acres (the 62nd lot in the second division of lots), also eighteen acres, all in Malden, for #90 to Nathaniel Waite Weaver of Medford. Deed recorded Sep 9 1707. It may be that James died before it was recorded, and that at the settling of his estate it was put on record [Ref: Washburn CHADWICK p23]
