1661: moved from Ipswich to Rowley, settling in the part known as Rowley Village, later incorporated as the town of Boxford [Ref: ForsterEJ FORSTER p84]

1675: appointed collector of taxes, along with Joseph Peabody and John Kimball [Ref: ForsterEJ FORSTER p85]

1685: one of the petitioners for incorporation of Boxford [Ref: ForsterEJ FORSTER p85]

will dated Sep 3 1711, proved Jun 15 1713, left to wife Mary entire estate, real and personal, except for the following legacies. All his carpenter's and joiner's tools were to be equally divided by his sons. To his five sons Jonathan, William, Timothy, Samuel, and David, all the salt marsh that he had had from hsi father. But ti is to be understood that his wife shall have the whole estate during her widowhood "to maintain herselfe & her son Joseph withall," then his executors shall have it to maintain his son oseph if he be still living. To his son Jonathan, the land where he dwelleth. To his son William, the money he had from the testator and the lands he how liveth upon. To his son Timothy, certain lands lying between Samuel Pickard's farm and the 400 acres which had belonged to Dorman, Cummings and Styles. To his son Samuel, the house and land "where I now live" after his mother's death. To his son David, 5#. To his daughters Mary Kilborne, Judah Plates, and Hannah Rixe, 5# each.
