'In the next century, a part of the Bosviles became seated here. At a court of the manor of Wood-hall, 15 Edward IV, it was found that Thomas Bosvile of Ederthorpe was dead, holding lands of the manor, and that Margaret the wife of William Symmes, and Hellen the wife of Robert Pilley, his daughters and coheirs, were of full age.
