1270: sold the honour of Trematon to Richard of Cornwall [Ref: Sanders Baronies p91]

The honour of Trematon illustrates the confusion which arose from the ignorance both of the tenants-in-chief and of the crown. Although the estate of Trematon was held of the Earl of Cornwall, Roger de Vautort was charged 100 pounds relief as a baron, and Richard of Cornwall bought the fief which was originally held of him [Ref: Sanders Baronies p90(8)]
