Research Notes:
By a fine 18 Edw 2 (1324) the manor of Annesley and its appurtenances and 25 messuages, one mill, 33 bovates of land, 57 acres of meadow, 3 of pasture, 12 of wood,, 34s 8d rent, and a third part of a mill, and rent of one pound of cummin in Gypsemere,Goverton, Bleseby, Morton, Birton, Bulcote, Lowdham, Kneveton, and Crophill Botiller, were settled on John de Annesley and Annora his wife and heirs of their bodies; remainder to right heirs of John. 2 Edw 3: the king granted to John de Annesley the custody of the Honour of Peverel in the counties of Nott. and Derb. [Rot Fin 2 E 3, m 12]. [Ref: Rosie Bevan SGM 8/27/2001-010236]

3 Edw 3 (1330): he pleaded before the great Eyre before William de Herle that King Edward the first by his charter bearing date at Newstede in Shirewood, 4 October in the eighth year of his reign had granted and confirmed to John de Annesley, whose son and heir he was, that he and his heirs should have free warren in all their demesne lands in Annesley. I have come across the text of a charter dated 1548 which outlines a 11 generation descent from John Annesley and Annora Pierpont his wife, down to John Chaworth. Unfortunately the scribe may have got confused with the number of Johns because an extra one seems to slip in where I have marked the text with an asterisk and gets carried on. The mistake does not, however, get translated into the corresponding drop down pedigree. I don't know whether the charter has been published elsewhere but it was copied onto a manuscript pedigree by William Flower in 1581 amongst the Chaworth-Musters papers held at the University of Nottingham, England.
