before 10 Jun 1334: John de DRYBY, at the time of his death, gave Tattersall, co Lincoln, to John, by words such as "John I give to thee this castle" without making any charter thereof and without the tenants having attorned to him in the lifetime of John de Dryby. By this gift he held Tattersall with the castle and its dependent manors for his life [Ref: CP VII p339]
