Research Notes:
1095: witness to a deed of gift to the abbey of Mont St Michel, Brittany, appending his seal bearing an escutcheon - d'azur a trois mondes surmontes d'une d'or; Kerviler also indicates that there was on the escutcheon "un lambel en chef", in later heraldry at least, the cadency mark of an eldest son during the lifetime of his father [Ref: Daykin Daubeney p290]
