Research Notes:
engaged in mercantile business in Chester county, until 1864, when he moved to Mercer county with his brother-in-lay, James McFarland. He engaged in the manufacture of iron at Big Bend, was superintendent of a furnace near New Wilmington, and finally went to Sharon and engaged in mining and shipping coal. [Ref: Helm TODD p366]
