later suspected of disloyalty, he sought refuge in Portugal, but was returned to Castile by the Portuguese king in exchange for the murderers of Ines de Castro, and was executed with great cruelty [Ref: Thompson CharlesII v26-204 (with update in book p377)]

Garcia Carraffa 42:158 states that his daughter Juana de Guzman was by his 1st wife. Vajay, AT 11 no 67 shows her as by his 2nd wife, Ines de Haro, who died after 1369. [Ref: Thompson CharlesII v26-204(323)]
