an East Frankish Count, probably established in South Eastern Germany by the Emperor Conrad II (d1039) and became Count of Losbern [Ref: Moriarty Plantagenet p119]

the connection between the Carinthian Spondheims and those of the Rheinland (Spondheim lies in the Rheinland) has not yet been determined. The Carinthian family evidently originated among the East Franks in the Rheinland [Ref: Moriarty Plantagenet p119]
