possibly a great-grandchild of Aubri II of Dammartin, and a grandson of Aubri's daughter Agnes, who married William de Fiennes [Ref: John Carmi Parsons SGM 8/30/1998]

identified as a kinsman of the queen in 1286 [Ref: CP++ Montfort 7/13/2004 (CP IX p128)]

descent from the queen's Fiennes cousins is suggested by the later presence of a family known as "de Fiennes de la Plaunche" in the Boulonnais, bearing arms similar to those of the Fiennes family [Ref: CP++ Montfort 7/13/2004 (CP IX p128)]
