in early twelfth century his holdings were reckoned as five knights' fees, owing castle gaurd at Richmond in October and November [Ref: Keats-Rohan DP p324]

as a tenant only of Count Alan there must be an assumption that he was a Breton in origin. A possible derivation is Ceaux, Manche, cant Ducey, a place then in Normandy but part of Brittany before abt 1009/29 [Ref: Keats-Rohan DP p325]
