acquired the lands of Kinnaird, Carcary, and part of Balnamoon [Ref: SP VIII
p48]
presumed to be 2nd son or nephew of John de Carnegie, though proof of
actual relationship is wanting owing to the burning of the charters in
1452 [Ref: Burke Peerage p1879]
possibly married Mariota, one of three coheiresses of Kinnaird, conveying
to him her portion of the estate, but no evidence of the marriage is to
be found. The other two coheiresses married respectively David Panter of
newmanswalls and William Cramond of Aldbar, who were for some time joint
lairds of Kinnaird, or parts of it, with Duthac [Ref: SP VIII p48]
