Research Notes:
of Terregles [Ref: SP III p12]

according to the Terregles MS history, was son of Sir John who died 27 Feb 1386 by his wife the Lord Boyd's daughter, grandson of another Sir John, and great-grandson of the Sir John who obtained Terregles from David II. This statement is inconsistent with chronology, and it seems probable that he was himself the son of the first Lord of Terregles [Ref: SP IV p400]
