earliest known ancestor of the Faucomberges, Franco homo Droganis, who held Rise and Catfoss of this Droga (Dreue de Bevere the Fleming) at the Conqueror's Survey, appears to have been one of the family of the Chatelains de St Omer, Seigneurs de Fauquembergue [Ref: CP V p267(e)]
