parentage is uncertain; possibly son of Roger de Neville of Kings Walden, Hertfordshire, but that would mean Margery married her first or second cousin, which seems unlikely [Ref: John Watson SGM 10/13/2014-181102]

possibly adopted his wife's name of Neville; identified himself in a deed as "Nicholas de Neuill" de Recburne filius Rogeri de Redburne [Ref: John Watson SGM 10/13/2014-181102]
