1190: along with his cousin, andwered for scutage on 18 1/6 knights' fees for Barony of Eton [Ref: Sanders Baronies p116]

1190: paid a fine for his mother's lands; these had been in the hands of the sheriff since 1184 [Ref: Sanders Baronies p116(10)]

1191: proffered 100m to have seizen of the lands which William was accused of having seized; it was not until 1198 that the fief was finally divided [Ref: Sanders Baronies p116]

1198: became heir to half the barony of Windsor, with his cousin William III [Ref: Keats-Rohan DD p790]

1198: agreement to split the Barony of Eton, which gives topographical details of the division, alludes to the baronia Willehni de Windesor avi eorum. William was not the pater of the two claimants [Ref: Sanders Baronies p117(1)]

1198: obtained half of the estes of the Barony of Eton [Ref: Sanders Baronies p117]
