granted the former holdings of Wadard as the barony of Cogges [Ref: Keats-Rohan DP p294]

appears in Oxfordshire documents between 1100 and 1110 [Ref: Keats-Rohan DP p294]

appears in records between 1101 and 1110 as Baron of Cogges; Barony had previously been held of the Bishop of Bayeyx by Wadard, whose estates formed the core of the lands later held by the family of Arsic [Ref: Sanders Baronies p36]

5 Jul 1110: at Stanford, Henry I confirmed to Fecamp the grant of land in England by Manasser Arsic, his wife and son Robert [Ref: Keats-Rohan DP p295]

according to Le Maho, the family held the fief of Bleville, in the pays de Caux, o fFecamp during the twelfth century; he suggests they were of English ancestry, part of an Anglo-Saxon colony which settled on the mouth of the Seine in the eleventh and twelfth centuries [Ref: Keats-Rohan DP p295]
