Ptolemy I may have initiated a liaison with Lamia, which was terminated by her capture at the battle of Salamis by Demetrius Poliorcetes in 306 BC [Ref: Bennett Ptolemies Lamia]

her status is inferred from the circumstances of her capture -- she is presumed to have been the mistress of the commander of the Ptolemaic fleet, who was Ptolemy I. However, she could as well have been the mistress of one of his immediate subordinates, since all his friends were also captured [Ref: Bennett Ptolemies Lamia]
