In the name of God, Amen. I Peter Musser of West Hempfield township in the County of Lancaster and state of Pennsylvania, yeoman, being in good health of body and of sound and disposing mind and memory, praised be God for the same, and being desirous to settle my worldly affairs whilst I have strength and capacity so to do, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following, that is to say, Imprimis It is my will and I do hereby order and direct that all my debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my decease as conveniently may be. I give and bequeath unto my dear wife Barbara Musser the use and occupancy of my household furniture during her natural life or as long as she remains my widow. It is my will and I do hereby order and direct that all my real estate remain unsold, during the natural life of my mother, and as long as my dear wife remains my widow; and after the decease of my mother and when my said wife ceases to be my widow, then I order and direct that my executors hereinafter named have my real estate appraised and that my son John take all the land at the appraised value, and that he pay to my daughter Elizabeth the one half of the valuation money thereof, or to her guardian if she should not be of age; but if my son John should not choose to take the land at said valuation then and in that case my executors may have all my land sold and divide the purchase money between my said children, share and share alike, or they may divide the land equally between them, the whole of the division to be done in any manner my children may think proper or agree upon. It is my will and I do hereby order and direct that my son John, with the assistance of my executors, farm all my real estate, and that he deliver to my mother the one half of all the produce thereof in the same manner that I am entitled to do agreeably to my father's will, and my mother to pay the half of the taxes and the half of the expenses for farming. It is my will and I do hereby order and direct that if my said children shall arrive of age before the decease of my mother or the time my wife shall cease to be my widow that they shall have their support out of my estate aforesaid, until such time as they become sole heirs of the same agreeably to the bequeaths aforesaid. And lastly, I nominate and appoint Andrew Shallenberger and Martin Musser of West Hempfield township in the county of Lancaster, yeoman, executors of this my last will and testament. In Witness whereof I the said Peter Musser have unto this my last will and testament set my hand and seal this fifteenth day of February anno domini one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven. Signed sealed published and declared by the above named testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us, Thomas Lloyd, Peter Mosser.
Lancaster County SS. On the 2nd March 1835 Before me the subscriber personally appeared Thomas Lloyd Esq and Peter Mosser the witnesses to the preceding will, and on their affirmations do say that they were present, and did see and hear Peter Musser the testator therein named, sign seal publish pronounce and declare the same as and for his last will and testament, and at the doing thereof he was of sound and well disposing mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge observation and belief. March 2nd 1835. Letters testamentary granted to Martin Musser, one of the executors (the other being dead) he being duly affirmed, well and truly to administer the goods and chattels rights and credits of the deceased, according to law, and also that he will diligently and faithfully regard and well and truly comply with the provisions of the law relating to collateral inheritances.
