Research Notes:
Probably one of the younger sons; probable that the older sons secured farms in the neighborhood of father's home in Paxtang Township, but the younger ones when grown up went farther away. William apparently cross the river into York County - no definite knowledge as to William's going to York County, but all the family traditions have it. [Ref: McCoy STURGEON p172]

There is little to identify William as a brother to the others, or even as a real personage, except the family traditions and corroborating circumstanes of many more Sturgeons in that part of York County to which he and Henry are said to have gone, than can be accounted for through Henry as a progenitor.
