Research Notes:
Peter, evidently was born in Ireland and was probably younger than Samuel, Jeremiah, and Thomas. We know even less about him that we do about Thomas. He was on the tax list for 1750. There was a Peter Sturgeon on the tax lists of 1769, 1780, and 1783. But Thomas, son of Samuel, had a son Peter, who was born in 1756 and thus becomes a possibility as a tax payer for some of the above dates. In the Census of 1790 I do not find mention of either Thomas or Peter, and both were likely dead at that time [Ref: McCoy STURGEON p129]
