Research Notes:
severe chronological problems with the account in CP. It seems impossible for Richard's father-in-law to have been the second son of Gerald, 8th Earl of Kildare. Gerald's eldest son was born about 1487, whereas Richard's grandson was born about 1523. On this bases, the supposed Thomas FitzGerald would have been born less than 36 years before his great grandson [Ref: CP++(proposed) Delvin 11/8/2004 (CP IV p173)]
