CP VIII p553: John Mauduit...m. Joan... His widow d..1369. (o). Note (o): "Her heir was Nicholas de Benton, son of her sister Margaret by Thomas de Benton, who d.1358" IPM clearly states that her mother Katherine de Boukland (not Joan) was sister of Margaret de Benton [Ref: CP VIII p553(o), IPM EdwardIII v12#394]

Inq taken at Salisbury, 4 December, 43 Edward III
Compton Chamberlayn. The manor, held of the king in chief by knight's service, as of the inheritance of Katherine de Bouklond, her mother.
She died on 13 October last. Nicholas de Beynton, aged 24 years and more, son and heir of Margaret de Beynton sister of Katharine aforesaid, is her heir [Ref: IPM EdwardIII v12#394]
