Research Notes:
1143: at Bishop Richard's suggestion, founded the abbey of Lucerne [Ref:
Keats-Rohan DD p725]
charters of his family for Lucerne and Montmorel show that Harscoit and his
heirsheld Subligny, cant La Haye-Pesnel, Manche, but the family onomastic and
the evidence of several of the charters indicate that the family were
originally Bretons holding land between Ponterson and Saint-James-de-Beuvnon.
The origin of their name was possibly Soligne, a hamlet near Pontorson, rather
than their later lordship at Subligny [Ref: Keats-Rohan DD p725]
