1297: his alliance with the Bishop of Osnabruck caused Count Otto III of Tecklenburg, an enemy of the bishop, to campaign against him in 1297; later he was allied with the counts of Wunstoft, Schauenburg, Oldenburg, and Hoya, against Duke Otto II of Brunswick-Luneburg, which feud ended in1302 after a reconciliation [Ref: Thompson CharlesII v24-244]
