Research Notes:
Gallo-Roman noblewoman [Ref: Houdry CharlAnc, Settipani CharlAnc p111]
sister of Sacerdos, the Gallo-Roman Archbishop of Lyons (542-559) [Ref: Kelley
Carolingians p109f, Moriarty Carolingians p306f]
perhaps sister of Leontius Bishop of Lyon, and attested sister of
Sacerdos, Bishop of Lyon [Ref: Christian Settipani SGM 9/14/1999]
descendant of a patrician and father of an Aurelianus [Ref: Christian
Settipani SGM 9/14/1999]
possibly niece of Leontius and Aurelianus, whose mother Hiberia is the
descendant of a patrician [Ref: Christian Settipani SGM 9/14/1999]
Moriarty, in his 1944 article on Origin of Carolingians, shows a single St
Gondulf, born 524, d 6 Jul 607, Governor of Marseilles in 581, Mayor of the
palace to Thiebert II; Tonsored in 599 and made Bishop of Tongres. David
Kelley in 1947 article, New Considerations of the Carolingians, identifies
Gundulfus, son of Florentinus and Arthemia, as "Dux, Not the relative of St
Arnulf", and St Gundolfus, son of Munderic, as "Bp of Tongres, Not the same as
Gundolfus Dux". Ford Mommerts on his Ansbertus chart, 2004, has two separate
Gondulfs, (1) son of Florentinus Bishop-elect of Geneva 513 and Artemia, who
was Duke of Austrasia 581-c587, Gov Provence 581-c587, and Bishop of Metz
c587-, and (2) son of Munderic and a daughter of Florentinus, who was Bishop
of Tongres 600. [WTM] It seems Moriarty, in order to satisfy the known family
relationships of the separate Gondulfs, added a second marriage of Artema,
wife of Florentinus, to Munderic; no other source has this second marriage of
Artema [Ref: Kelley Carolingians p109f, Kelley Carolingians p111f, Mommaerts
