Irmina placed as granddaughter of Dagobert for three reasons: Dagobert had a sister named Imma, a diminutive of the name Irmina; from the 11th century, unanimous tradition makes Irmina a daughter of Dagobert; Irmina had daughter Ragentrude and grandson Caribert, the names of Dagobert's wife and brother, respectively.
