Research Notes:
recorded in diary of Absolam Porter Dowdle (b.1819 son of Robert b.1796 son of James) that in 1843 his father left Mississippi for a time to go to South Carolina "as his father had died". He goes on to say that "My father came back in eight or ten days all broke up about his father's death, ..." [Ref: Lorraine Dowdle 7/3/2006]
